Square Cactus is recruiting a Social Media / Marketing Assistant for support on the National Love Your Local Market campaign.
This can either be a fixed fee freelance role or a fixed term employment.
Contract to run for 5 weeks from Monday 29th April 2019

About Love Your Local Market:

2019 sees the eighth year of NABMA’s (National Association of British Market Authorities) “Love Your Local Market” campaign, a national celebration of markets in the UK from 17th May 2019 to 31st May 2019. The campaign has been so successful that it has now been embraced by 24 different countries worldwide. #LYLM2019
Love Your Local Market has given over 11,000 people the chance to sample market trading and at least 1,000 new businesses have been created.
Our content in 2018 created over £3/4 million worth of press coverage and over 35 million social media impressions.

About the Role:

Love Your Local Market is predominantly a social media campaign that operates across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
It highlights the events and activities taking place at markets across the UK as well as increasing the awareness of the UK’s markets and their events, promotions and stories.
You will be predominantly creating quality content on social media and creating conversations and interactions across the UK.

Skills:

Creating and copy for the campaign’s social media feeds and website.
Creating and managing relevant content for social media posts.
Building audience growth across our three social media platforms.
Creating and managing social media advertising budget.
Responding to press enquiries from our own press releases and finding new contacts to share the campaign’s content.
Use social media, phone and email to gather content from our partner markets across the UK and to encourage new participants.
To create an intensive and creative period of social media content and to interact with all relevant content, encourage conversations using our in-house software.

Essential:

Excellent oral and written communication and copywriting skills and the ability to demonstrate your creativity in the field of social media.

Remuneration: c £1,750 for the five-week contract.

Can be an employed position or we are happy to consider application from freelancers.
The position is based at Square Cactus offices in Blackburn town centre, with free parking available. All equipment will be provided.
The standard hours of work are 8am to 4pm (Monday to Friday) but the nature of this contract will mean that some evening and weekend work will be essential.
