Square Cactus captures the Markets

Blackburn’s award winning digital marketing agency, Square Cactus, have been contracted as digital communications consultants to support the national membership body for markets across the UK.

Ian Holmes and the team are working with NABMA, the National Association of British Market Authorities, to overhaul the communications plan and bring a fresh dynamism to the annual Love Your Local Markets campaign which supports over a thousand events and activities each May. The annual Great British Market Awards are also run and promoted by NABMA, which attracts hundreds of entries every year.

The association has, in recent years, increased its profile, particularly on the national stage by working with Government to secure recognition for markets in a number of major policy areas.

NABMA’s Love Your Local Market campaign is the UK’s largest annual celebration of retail and wholesale markets in our towns & cities. History and innovation, experience and entrepreneurship, food and culture come together in a fortnight festival of market activities and events taking place this year from 17th – 31st May 2018.

Square Cactus has grown from small beginnings with one client supporting start up opportunities on Blackburn Market to delivering PR, event support, marketing, web design and social media to a wide range of clients.

Ian Holmes, founder of Square Cactus, said, “We are excited to be working with NABMA on their digital communications programme and the prospects that come with the national Love Your Local Market campaign. We will be looking at ways to bring added benefits to the association’s members as well as offering our ’round the clock’ support. From small beginnings, it is great news for us that, through organic growth, we are now able to work with businesses and organisations of all sizes.”
